Residents and visitors are encouraged to come out and enjoy the events. Businesses in the affected areas will be open to pedestrian traffic but the roads identified below will be closed to motor vehicle traffic. Festivals and other special events are important to the city, injecting hundreds of millions of dollars annually into Toronto’s economy, and they are enjoyed each year by local residents. Church Street Fetish Fair Sunday closure: Church Street from Alexander Street to Gloucester Street will be closed in both directions on Sunday, August 15 from 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. to accommodate this event. Kensington Pedestrian Sunday Sunday closure: Parts of the following roads will be closed on Sunday, August 15 from noon to 7 p.m. to accommodate this event. • Augusta Avenue • Baldwin Street • Kensington Avenue • St. Andrew Street In addition to road closures related to special events, there is a significant amount of road work taking place in the city this summer. People are encouraged to take public transit as a greener, faster and more affordable way of getting to their destinations. If you need to drive in event areas, allow extra time to get to and from your destination. A more complete list of events and road work is available at http://www.toronto.ca/torontostreets. |
