| Article | November 19, 2012 Deputy Mayor Doug Holyday rewarded the efforts of five local safety projects at the City of Toronto's 11th annual Mayor's Community Safety Awards this evening at City Hall. Also participating in the ceremony were Toronto Police Chief William Blair; Lena Demarco, Bell Regional Director of Community Affairs; and Stephen Linton, Supervisor, Community Crisis Response Program. "Congratulations to the winners of the 2012 Community Safety Awards," said Deputy Mayor Holyday. "You deserve to be rewarded for your hard work and dedication to improving safety in your communities. I commend you on a job well done." "I personally congratulate each of the award recipients for their tremendous contributions to society - and for their desire to get involved in our community," said Chief Blair. Deputy Mayor Holyday, Chief Blair and the other guests recognized the following winning projects for their significant contribution to community safety in Toronto: • SafeTYnet • Rabita - Community Conversation Circles • Welcome to the Circle • Show Love • One Bullet, A Thousand Tears Each project received a $1,000 cheque from Bell, a long-time sponsor of the Mayor’s Community Safety Awards, to help them continue their work, as well as a framed certificate signed by the Mayor to commemorate their achievement.
