How Sikh Youth Saved the Panth
http://www.sikhri.org/download.pdf?id=13082
Presenter: Kulvir Singh

Who should attend?
Anyone who is frustrated with the current state of affairs in
the Sikh Panth and wants to learn about how Sikh youth around the
world can play a role in revolutionizing our global community.

What is the presentation about?
1849 was one of the most traumatic years in modern Sikh history.
Frustrated by the decades of decline that followed the
disintegration of the Sikh empire, a group of young Sikhs decided
to reinterpret their faith for a new generation and assume
leadership of the Panth's religious and political institutions.
As we reflect on the 26th anniversary of 1984, explore how a
century-old revolution provides valuable lessons on how to
approach the challenges facing Sikhs over the next twenty-five
years.

Who is the presenter?
Kulvir Singh lives in Brampton, Ontario and works as a management
consultant. He has been involved with various Sikh and mainstream
organizations in Toronto, including Toronto Sikh Retreats,
Habitat For Humanity (Brampton), and the William Osler Health
Centre Foundation. He is currently working with a group of Sikh
Youth to launch the Seva Food Bank and the Sikh Arts Council.
